Being a volunteer at WordCamp Vienna is a rewarding and fulfilling experience.
It offers you the opportunity to meet and chat with participants from all over the world, but also to support the speakers and organizers in their work.
Volunteering is extremely important because without you, the volunteers, WordCamp Vienna couldn’t be as successful and accessible as it is!

As a volunteer you don’t need any experience in organizing WordCamps. All you should bring is energy, enthusiasm, comfortable shoes and a love for the WordPress community.
The area of responsibility during the event will be varied and you can also interrupt your voluntary activities to visit certain lectures of the conference that are of your interest.
Available Positions
- Set-up Crew – Early on Saturday morning we need a team of volunteers to place signs nearby to the event location. (Breakfast and coffee will be provided).
- Check in – Check in participants and hand out name tags. Hand out WordCamp T-shirts and give out goodies in the afternoon.
- Help Desk – Help other WordPress users with their websites.
- Green Room – Be mindful of the space where speakers and volunteers leave their belongings. Perfect for a break or to work on the laptop for a short time.
- Lunch break – For directing attendees to the dining rooms.
At the lectures, compatible to follow them:
- Time Keeper – Work with the organizers, speakers, filmmakers and everyone else to keep the talks running smoothly and on time!
- Mic Runner – During question and answer times, move the mic to the next questioner.
- Moderator – Introduce the speakers and lead the Q/A session at the end of the talk.
- Room Monitoring – Ensure that conference rooms are not overcrowded and prevent loud door openings when people enter and leave the room.
Video/Photography(assigned) – Help support the event with taking photos and video footage
On Sunday:
- Workshop Day – General help to prepare the workshop rooms and Coffee Break / Deli Lunch.
