Stefan Buchberger

Stefan knows the way from an initial idea to the finished book, from production to people’s shelves and reading devices: As a book publisher he was responsible for programs and redactions, marketing and PR, distribution, contracts, rights and fundraising. He was concerned with analog and digital products, worked in a bookstore and as an editor for literary magazines.

In 2001, during his studies of German Philology and Political Science, he co-founded Luftschacht Verlag, an independent publishing house that has gained international recognition for it’s literary fiction, graphic novels and children’s books.

With his new project Buch & Berger he finally combines his industry experience with his enthusiasm for web technology – aiming to meet the demand for better websites and web publishing strategies on the part of writers, publishers and their fellow book workers. (And of course WordPress is his favorite press for books that live in the web.)
